An evening of universal devotional sounds with Pandit Tejomaya from British Columbia with special guest, blues musician, Steve “Leroy Airmaster” Cohen

Pandit Tejomaya was born in Minnesota in the United States and was called to a spiritual life from early on. He holds a bachelors of arts in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota and a masters of science in Health from the University of Wisconsin.

Following in the tradition of his upbringing, Tejomaya entered a Christian monastery as a Dominican Monk, but the hand of the Guru was already at play in his life. Following the monastic life, Tejomaya had a 20 year career in occupational health research.  But a stage III cancer diagnosis in 1995 re-awakened Tejomaya's call to spiritual living and this led him to the eastern philosopy and the practice of yoga.

He recieved mantra initiation in the Himalayan Tradition of Yoga from Swami Veda Bharati.  Tejomaya was initiated as a Pandit in the Himalayan Tradition of Yoga in 2012, is trained as a mantra initiator, and has taken the vows of a Vanaprast (Forest Dweller) in 2017.

Steve Cohen, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a performing musician, an educator, and a booking agent. He has been sponsored by Hohner Inc., the world's largest maker of harmonicas, since 1986. He also plays the guitar and sings.

Steve performs regularly in several of his own ensembles, averaging more than 100 personal appearances a year and is in demand as a sideman for local and national groups. He has produced 8 published recordings of his own, and his playing has appeared on dozens of other recordings, demos, and commercials.

Cohen has received public recognition, winning over a dozen awards from several organizations, including WAMI, the Shepard/Express Readers Poll, and Milwaukee Magazine. He was a finalist at the 2010 International Blues Challenge in Memphis as a solo performer.
